On April 15th, 2007, forcasters predicted madness and mayhem here in the Northeast. It arrived, but without much fanfare. Power flickered in Green Harbor and Brant Rock, Massachusetts. But like most things here, the storm was at the mercy of the tides. For while the winds may blow and the rains may fall, the Ocean is a stubborn mistress. She does not take orders.

On April 17th, with the nor'easter still blowing, her tides joined forces with the storm. And, to paraphrase scripture...

The rains came, and the wind blew, and beat hard upon that place... but she did not fall.

Here are just a few photographs of Green Harbor and Brant Rock. They've been resized, but unretouched. The page will load slowly if you are on dialup.

Hope nobody was in there...

If you can't come to Green Harbor, she'll come to you.

No, seriously... SHE'LL COME TO YOU.

Isn't the marsh supposed to be... err... semi-solid?

And here comes Marshfield's Finest to block the road.

Brant Rock will not be accepting visitors today.
